Responsible Alpaca Standard (RAS)

The Responsible Alpaca Standard (RAS) was established to promote high standards of animal welfare for alpacas used in fiber production, while also supporting sustainable land management practices and ensuring fair social conditions for workers throughout the supply chain.

Under the CCS chain of custody system, certified entities are subject to audits that verify proper documentation practices, accurate mass balance or volume reconciliation, and the physical separation of certified materials. These requirements are designed to maintain full traceability from source to final product.

The RAS applies to all products that contain a minimum of 5% certified Responsible Alpaca Standard (RAS) material.
